I am James McCafferty, retired owner of Ray McCafferty Refrigeration. My father started up in 1934. With over 75 years of experience in the field I can say it is a fact that Green Fiber Cocoon Cellulose is 100% way to go.
First, there is no difference between your house and a refrigerator. The cooling unit is removing heat not putting cold air in. A refrigerator first has to remove the heat from any product before it maintains a cold temp. In a refrigerator it's food. In the case of your house it's walls and ceiling. The A/C has to cool the ceiling and the walls first before it can maintain a steady air temperature.
I had the privilege of being one of Doug's (ACH) firsts clients in 1991.
The same year my son was born, in June. Plus we were taking care of my mom. Who was in her late 70's and she could not tolerate the heat or the cold. The new born was just as intolerant.
For the comfort, but more importantly the rising cost of energy bills, is the reason we had insulated. The other important feature for my wife is that Green Fiber Cocoon Cellulose is fire proof and bug repellent built into it.
We are spending $450.00+ on elecetricity to cool the house and $250.00+ to heat it.
We had some attic insulation but no wall insulation. That was the key factor in lowering our energy bills. The power companies were never going to lower their prices. If anything I knew they would always increase.
Green Fiber Cocoon Cellulose insulation is something that would curtail the rising cost that did not need maintenance.
I did not want to use fiberglass as I knew it was not as efficient as cellulose. To get cellulose into the walls was at the time a hand done process, which was out of the question. The walls were made of lather and plaster. Doug, of ACH, had equipment to expertise inject cellulose into walls. This was the answer I needed.
The effect was immediate. you could feel the difference the next day. The following month the power bill had dropped from $450 to $150, approximately. that winter the gas bill dropped from $250 into the $30's.
That was 22 years ago. I figured I have saved on an average estimated $2000 a year in energy bills. That's $44,000 dollars as of today. Bonus- zero termite problems to date.

10/6/2018 It is great when you happen to find an amazing company with honest owners and employees! I was abandoned mid-job in insulating my house. After enduring so many cancellations and no shows, I was actually kind of relieved. I found another referred company that gave me an extremely high quote and said they don't like to finish other peoples work. I was getting super frustrated when I came upon ACH. I spoke to Doug on Friday and explained my predicament. He said "no problem" and was at my house the next day (Saturday!) and gave me a VERY fair quote (this was my 3rd quote and it was the best) which included repair of exterior. The job took them 2 days and it is flawless! The owners (father and son) were there to do the work and were prompt , courteous and left things clean! My house looks better than before and they even touched a few spots that weren't part of their repair job. I wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone looking for attic or wall insulation or attic fans. I have not had such a wonderful experience in a long time. I have noticed a difference in the interior temperature. The house stays cooler and I don't have to keep the AC running all the time. I can't wait to see my electric bill for the savings! Call ACH!!!!!

8/6/2018I met with Doug on a Friday, by Wed. everything was done. I had met with the competitor the day before. I explained I had him 15yrs ago on another house and didn't need the basic info. By the time he left I was about to lose my mind. He left after I told him I couldn't afford it. Doug came and it was a totally different exp.
They had a whole house fanI was very interested in.I was able to get the fan , attic and wall insulation.
The guys that came were fabulous . It was so hot and they worked so well. They cleaned up after themselves
and you cannot see the holes in the stucco, which I couldnt say for the competitor. They even hammered a board
up that was hanging from my garage door. I cant say enough Good about them all. That whole house fan is well worth the money.
Its 12:30 pm and close to 100 degrees, haven't turned on the ac yet. Susan Y. Poway, CA
